The average for points this year sat at a pretty impressive 100.2, undoubtedly inflated by the high PIM we saw across the league. With our “Replacement Level” median man Corey Waffles only amassing -11.2 this makes any player in the 50+ range look pretty elite. Topping this category was always going to be Brennan Waterson (Pictured). Jian was at the bottom, unsurprisingly, with a staggering -90.2.
Nick’s Wyatt Ball (Pictured) led this category with 7.6 FPPG due largely to his massive penalty performances every time the coach was desperate enough to put him in the line up. There were only 2 players who managed less than a point per game and both somehow belonged to (season winner) Nick. Jackson Gush only managed 0.8 FPPG and of course Jian with 0.4.
No surprise at the top of the list with Brennan Waterson (13.6 xGS) and the rest of the high PIM boys. Derek’s Gavin Smith was the 0 xGS man, so not only was he not dishing the puck (0 apples remember?) he wasn’t even taking big runs at guys. What was he even doing out there? Speaking of soft, the lowest xGS belongs to top scorer Tyler Burke (pictured).
With such a PIM heavy year it's not a real surprise that the usual suspects are topping this list. But managing to sneak into the top 5 and being the only member of that top 5 with fewer than 100 PIM was James’ Asher Lucas (pictured: Lucas as surprised as we are for getting a shout out) with 0.67 xGI, narrowly beating out perennial 1st teamer Landon Janz. Lucas put together a very nice 30 game season with 15/25/55.
Few surprises at the top of the list with Brennan Watterson claiming top spot with 11.21 xDD, the only player to get into double digits. The most surprising thing at the bottom of the list is in 5th last on the list, my forward from the Kelowna Chiefs Aiden Morcom. Had a pretty solid 22G 26A campaign, good for a 0.60 xGI and top 10 in the league in most categories, but a lousy 16PIM really dragged his xDD down.
The biggest victim of poor defensive play this year is Jaiden Jakubowski (fake name?). Unfortunately for him, he was traded to the Coyotes mid-season and took a little bit of a shellacking. His 16.6 SS tops the list in this category.
Expansion goalie Evan Legget for the Williams Lake Mustings had to work the hardest for his 5 wins this year, needing to make 127 stops per W.
